About Dr. sanika
I was born in a small rural town in India, and spent much of my life between India and the US. This unique perspective, allowed me to see the evident gaps in conventional healthcare, as well as the lack of attention given to preventive and traditional medicine in the US.
Both of my parents are Ayurvedic doctors, so you could say that holistic medicine has quite literally been instilled in me since childhood. Over the years, I've learned to appreciate the intricate balance between the East and West, conventional and unconventional, and corrective vs preventive medicine.
As a young girl growing up between two very different cultures, I developed a strong sense of the disregard for women's health. Overtime, I learned the complexities of these deep-rooted beliefs, ideologies, and stigmas surrounding healthy menstruation practices, sexuality, and simply existing as a woman. Women deserve better care than they are given, and I plan to bridge this gap with compassion, empathy, and cultural competence.
My approach to care will always remain patient-centered. I believe in empowering women of all ages, and giving them the right tools to take control of their health.
