Seed Cycling
Definition
Seed cycling is a food-based approach to supporting hormonal balance by consuming specific seeds during different phases of the menstrual cycle. During the follicular phase (days 1–14), flax and pumpkin seeds support estrogen metabolism. During the luteal phase (days 15–28), sunflower and sesame seeds support progesterone production. Seeds are typically consumed as 1–2 tablespoons daily, ground for optimal absorption.
Why It Matters
Seed cycling provides phytoestrogens, essential fatty acids, minerals (zinc, magnesium), and lignans that support hormone production, metabolism, and detoxification. While research is limited, clinical experience suggests seed cycling can help regulate cycles, reduce PMS, support fertility, and ease perimenopause symptoms as a gentle, food-based intervention.

Yes. If you don't have regular cycles, you can follow the lunar cycle or calendar month—using flax and pumpkin seeds for the first half of the month (days 1–14) and sunflower and sesame seeds for the second half (days 15–28/31).
